Save Skyline Park in Napa

Syar Industries has a proposal to expand its mining operations to hills adjacent to Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa. The permit will last 35 years. Syar has a negative environmental record for it's polluted runoff that drains Arroyo Creek into the Napa River and we are concerned that a polluting industry will be allowed to expand operations that will affect wildlife, air, water, and the surrounding neighborhoods for decades.

Save Our Skyline has a mission is to raise awareness and encourage community action through social media, advertising, letters to the editor and a big Skyline Appreciation Day event on May 16th. We think there is a political solution to this if the community tells the Planning Commissioners NO to Syar expansion closer to Skyline Park, the Napa County Office of education. the Napa State Hospital, and the neighborhoods where families have their homes.

Our funds will go towards outreach activities that encourage community participation in this decision, including: promoting a petition to the Planning Commission, promoting our Facebook Page and information posts, encouraging letter writing to the local papers and to county officials, and advertising.
