Pi Kappa Alpha:Habitat for Humanity

The Beta Phi chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha is raising money to build a house with Habitat for Humanity. Ten Greek houses at Purdue are all working together to raise $40,000 to build a house for a family.

The total cost to build a house with Habitat for Humanity is $55,000. IFC and Panhellenic is helping us with $15,000. The rest of it will be raised by the ten Greek houses participating in building the new home. Our goal as a chapter is $4,000 and our vision with this is to keep building homes for families of the Lafayette community for years to come. Depending on how much we fundraise this year we might double our goal next year and build two homes in our community.  Purdue Greeks are here to leave a positive impact on the community of Lafayette.

We also have a generous matching program where a house will be built in Jamaica once we raise enough to build the one in Lafayette! This is the first ever Purdue IFC and Panhellenic build - we are trying to raise all the money this semester and plan to build next fall. We will be posting photos once the project gets underway. This is something we will be able to see when we come back and visit 20 years from now, it's a lasting impact on a family and our community.
