Help Lucky Loki's Recovery!

Donation protected
Wednesday our family received devasting news.

Our dog,Loki opened the latch in the yard yesterday and got out.  After searching for hours for our boy, We got a terrifying call that Loki was in intensive care after being hit earlier in the day by a train, if that wasn't bad enough our poor boy was thought to be dead and left there where he was ran over by 13 more trains and only noticed when the same conductor came thru a second time and Loki lifted his head, showing life. He was rushed to west vet in Boise, Idaho and immediately started receiving care that was needed. By the time we could sweep ourselves up off the floor and get down we thought for sure we were saying good bye to our fur friend, which as most could imagine was by far the hardest and most emotional thing our kids and I have been through. Walking through the door to love him and say good bye my husband Ryan and I reached to pet and love him up and he smiled.. that silly, loving boy was still in there. We decided as a family that if Loki can make it through what he had.. who are we to not give him a fighting chance. We are determined to do just that and do what is necessary to bring him home. What we know today is his surgery is very extensive from head to toe trauma, and will require daily hospital visits and wound care. Loki has severe head trauma, he will loose his left eye, and possibly his left leg, and tail. He has multiple lacerations and perforations in his sinuses which are causes some bleeding as well. We are taking a more conservative approach to the leg, but conservative means more time and more money. Loki is in good enough health today that the surgeons have decided to move forward with anesthesia and surgery. He began eating on his own last night too which is a huge stride in the right direction. The great part about all of this though is he is OK and he WILL come home and live the rest of his life happy and loved with an optimistic quality of life. Our vet bills right now are staggering and ranging from treatment cost of $5,000-$10,000. There has been an outpouring of love and support and people who want to help Loki. I am asking that everyone continue to send Loki and my family positive vibe and prayers and if you are able to make a donation you will be able to do so directly to West Vet Hospital (208) [phone redacted], or via the gofundme page.
