Doug's Multiple Myeloma Cancer Fund

Doug Poffenberger was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in October of 2013 and relapsed in August of 2017. Since that diagnosis, he has fought a long, tough battle through two stem cell transplants, overcoming a variety of complications. There is currently no cure for Multiple Myeloma and he will be dealing with a potential reoccurrence for the rest of his life.

Due to the disabling effects of his treatment, Doug has been unable to work and doctors will not say when, if ever, he might be able to work again, given his weakened immune system. But the bills don't stop and they continue to pile up.

He has been hospitalized twice in the last 6 months due to complications, including pneumonia. One hospital bill alone is $5,000 over what insurance will pay. That, in addition to everyday living expenses, have put a huge financial burden on Doug and his family.

Doug remains positive and most days has a smile on his face, but the family could really use your support. Any monetary contribution you can make, be it $5 or $500, will be greatly appreciated. If you can't contribute financially at this time, please keep Doug in your prayers or send him a note of support.

We received the unfortunate news today that Doug's cancer has returned. He will be starting chemotherapy again this week and we will be planning another bone marrow transplant in the very near future.
