She is TJEP. Built in Svendborg Denmark in 1948 by Ove Kaii.
She is a dragon class sailboat.

I want to clean her up, set her up with rowing stations, kit her out for an 800 nautical mile race from Port Townsend to Alaska in June.

I am young... I have way too much energy. This is my hairbrained scheme.
I have the cost of moving the boat to my yard covered.
I would like to do this soon, and I am looking for the right guy to get her here... Thats the easy part.
For those of you who know wooden boat restoration and its inherent challenges you will know that I am not asking for enough money. She needs alot of work and I will get into the specifics of this as we progress. I must be clear that I am only as capable of doing this as materials and time allow. This is a race and I already have that mindset. The boat is in desparate need of my talents and the sooner I can get cracking on the better.
I am giving my time to this project. Normal shipwrights cost around 45 an hour and professional yards can be upwards of 100 an hour. I believe this is a two stage campaign, stage one the restoration and stage two the race... and will require I ask for specific costs, materials and tooling expenses to be covered. I am currently gainfully employed at a very reputable cabinet shop in Cobble hill.
Obviously this whole venture is based on me being able to pull the boat together in time... an act of physical endurance and skill in itself. And then sail it to ketchikan.
There is alot of potential for failure and pain and all the stuff that makes life so much fun. I will keep the project well covered on facebook as it progresses.
