The Liz Murphy Fund for OHP

Liz Murphy's Open Hand Pantry was founded by a Haverhill woman who observed that many in her community, right outside her door were hungry. Along with some other women and members of her faith community, they started to feed them with sandwiches, and eventually grew to open a pantry where they could provide bags of food to allow them the dignity of preparing their own food.
Working in collaboration with Catholic Charities for many years, they continued to grow. Now under the direction of the parishes of St. James and John the Baptist parish in Haverhill, they continue this work along side other faith communities and civic support from groups that are part of the community.
We hope to raise $20,000 through this site. It will help us to provide nutritious fresh food to those in need and allow us to fund our transportation, administration costs also.
