Orphanage in Kenya Needs Your Help

I first came to know of Dennis Michieka as a Facebook friend....through a friend of a friend. I was interested in missions and learning how people survived in Africa....a traditionally poor country with limited resources. The more I learned about this man of God and his vision for the children of Kenya, the more I knew I had to help.Dennis established the newly-formed orphanage (which has yet to be named) in honor of his late father, who had a real heart for children and especially the orphans. Orphans in Kenya who have lost parents often end up on the street, begging for food to eat. The orphanage gives these children a home where they are loved and educated....the future looks much brighter for these 23 children.However, it didn’t take me long to realize that the orphanage had many needs and was in desperate need of donors. Trying to feed and clothe 23 children on a teachers salary is impossible. Dennis’ mother does the cooking on a diet that consists of rice and beans. However, even these things cost money that is often unavailable. Breakfast for these children is provided by the nearby banana trees. With such a limited diet, these children are undernourished and therefore vulnerable to sickness and disease.
