THRIVE Intern & Leadership Program

Donation protected
Faith Formula Human Services presents the THR!VE Intern and Leadership Program.  This dynamic program began last summer after President Barack Obama began the My Brother's Keeper Campaign, which targeted young men of color who are often stereotyped and victims of systematic injustice.  Our program was very successful in its goals of educating, empowering, equipping and employing young African American men in the Dallas area. We were able to host job readiness workshops, leadership and development workshops, 2 job fairs, and employ over 70 young men (ages 16-20) for the summer making a minimum of $10/hour (unheard of for teenagers). Additionally, we supplied each young man with a mentor, one on one assistance where needed and bus passes to get to and from work.  President Obama even mentioned our program in a national conference.

This summer we plan to do this again, but we need your help.  The reward of our investment is the success of these young men, but the investment requires funding.  We are asking for donations to help fund our program for the 2015 summer.  Our goal is to raise $50,000 by June 8th to effectively launch our program and provide adequate services to give our interns the tools they need to be successful.  Your giving not only grants employment, but you are giving a young man the opportunity to grow beyond where he is and become something even greater than he imagined.

With your help, we will make a difference one child at a time.
