Rural Bioenergy Project in Nigeria
Donation protected
As an environmentalist, I have a passion to promote a cleaner rural lifestyle in South-West Nigeria and as a result of this, I am initiating a project tagged EcoTrigger which aims at executing biogas recovery projects in mostly farming communities in Ekiti State, Nigeria. The availability of high amount of organic waste, which is usually disposed of in open dumpsites (a precursor to many adverse effects of environmental pollution) presents a perfect opportunity for biogas recovery from waste.
I will be partnering with an organization in Portugal to deliver a cheap, clean, easy-to-maintain, and eco-friendly biogas system in these communities.
Some of the benefits of this project are:
1. Utilization of organic waste to generate biogas for local consumption (cooking and electricity) and for bio-fertilizer production.
2. Minimizing open waste dumping as well as its attendant health, environmental and social consequences
3. Creating an environmental awareness among the rural population
4. Contributing to global carbon emissions reductions
5. Restoring the natural beauty of the environment as well as fostering renewed love for rural life.
