Marathons for mountaintrikes
Donation protected
Seven years ago, my friend and adopted little brother Josh, was in a car accident which left him in a wheelchair.
I'm now running to raise money towards an all terrain wheelchair, aka a mountaintrike, for Josh. These fantastic wheelchairs open up the countryside, festivals, the beach and city to wheelchair users which is almost impossible with conventional wheelchairs.
They were invented after the designer’s friend was injured in a car accident – similar to Josh.
For those of you know know where Josh and I grew up (in the middle of the countryside surrounded by woodland and fields) you'll know what a difference one of these could make. Josh is also a huge music fan so the chance to be able to head off to a festival every summer would be incredible. He's come so far over the past few years so it would be amazing to give him something that could help him gain even more independence.
On April 24th, I'll be at the London Marathon, ready to get 26.2 miles under my belt. A month later, Woody (a complete non runner) and I are also doing a 15 mile fell run in the Lakes just to make sure my legs really do feel like jelly forever.
