Keeping a Free Press in New Hope

In this age of big newspaper chains and advertiser-sponsored news coverage, New Hope Free Press is a local, independent voice serving New Hope, Solebury, Lambertville and beyond.

Your contribution can keep the Free Press going for another year, helping us add more freelance writers, photographers, artists, and technology support.

Banner ad revenue helps, but it takes a little more to keep going, because we don't write about people or places in exchange for advertising (like our competitors do).

Right now, for example, we need a small pocket camera with a zoom lens to replace the one we destroyed two months ago (they usually last three or four months). We would also like to cover more local team sports, municipal elections, and local personalities, and help more area freelancers add their voice to our news mix, and get compensated for their work as we grow.

We strive day in and day out to keep readers posted not only on the latest things to do and see in the area, but also on the unbiased information they need to stay informed on key issues facing our communities. 

We believe, above all else, that a non-partisan, free press is an essential ingredient of a democracy. We ask you to help us financially insure that New Hope keeps its hometown paper, now digital, but still resolutely independent.
