Roseland Youth Center Fund

Tax deductible

The Roseland Youth Center (RYC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing positive programs and activities for the children, youth, and adults in the Southwest Santa Rosa area called Roseland, located in the North Bay Area of California. The mission of the Roseland Youth Center is to create and support opportunities for community led enrichment programs in the greater Roseland Area.

Roseland Youth Center is a youth center without walls, offering after school programs such as drumming, Aztec
dance, adult literacy classes, and sports programs for up 250 people annually. Plans for future programs and classes include expanding programs to include girl’s basketball, art, and music and daily homework/tutoring assistance. Through these program activities and mentoring, we hope to teach our children and youth vital life skills.

We currently have 3 programs for our community: Our mission is to enrich people of our community by providing them available resources and positive programs that enrich their lives. With the funds we will provide the resources, items and develop more programs for the community.

1. Roseland English for Adult Learners (R.E.A.L)  has been offering Free structured English as Second Language (ESL) classes to the community since 2008. Our year round program offers three levels of English Instruction. Our ESL classes are taught by 6 volunteer TESOL certified teachers dedicated to teach our students.

2. Roseland Ballers:  created to provide the opportunity for "at risk" children to be young athletes and further develop their athletic skills in a safe healthy environment. The experience is valuable to them, providing a community of boys/girls and mentors, who are coaching them in life skills, in addition to the sport.  They have a passion for sports so coaches use this to motivate them in all aspects of their life. RYC hopes to create a year round program that will support the youth in Roseland and provide them with a more permanent positive outlet.

3. Danza Azteca de Xantotl de Santa Rosa:  came together on March 13, 2010 in the city of Santa Rosa, California. Various members of the community in Santa Rosa, gathered with the desire to learn the traditions and values passed down through generations that are commonly known as Aztec dancing. The traditions are deeply rooted in the central part of Mexico and have spread to throughout the country
