Reach Out Community Center NFP in the South Lawndale Neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side gives kids ages 6 to 17 engaging, nourishing programming after school and over the summer – at no cost to their families. These children are dramatically underserved by the current supplemental education options, a deficiency that can have irrevocable consequences for the youth and community as a whole.
For over 10 years, Reach Out has been working in South Lawndale with local businesses, aldermen, schools, and families to build a program focused solely on the children. To bring them together, expand their worldview, build new skills, cultivate their curiosity, learn about their city, forge new relationships, and create opportunities. In South Lawndale where gangs and violence are a common path, this type of environment may very well be the difference between life and death.
Right now, YOU can help Reach Out continue our work in South Lawndale. To keep these programs free for the families, we need donations. Give what you can - 10, 20, 100 – and know that 100% goes to programming and supplies for our kids. EVERY CENT buys supplies for art and craft projects, pays for transportation to museums and parks, and funds healthy snacks among other things.
