Marc's New Tuba

My name is Marcus. I have been playing the tuba for 5 years. During those years, I've relied on school issued instruments to borrow because of the high expense of owning one. These instruments are unreliable on their best day, and currently, I am borrowing the last semi-working tuba that my school has, which looks like it's been run over by a truck, and is even duct taped together. The valves rarely work, (see video) and this tuba can't make it through a 2 minute song without needing maintenance. The problem is, I play competitively, most recently at state level, after scoring perfectly at districts. This instrument will kill me at the next competition.  This is a crisis for me, as I rely on these competitions for visibility in hopes of a future music scholarship, with an ultimate goal of playing professionally with an orchestra. This is what I want to do with my life.  While I play several instruments, I favor the tuba, and only own one other instrument, which is a beat up sousaphone I bought for $50 from my school, which is in such bad shape, they don't allow me to play it in any school setting. I am coming up on my first solo competition in 3 weeks, and this instrument will not make it through my piece, as you can see also in the attached video. Last year, I scored perfectly at district level, and missed a perfect score by one point at state level, and that was with a borrowed instrument that was in bad shape, and has since broken. (Most of the instruments available to borrow are several decades old and in terrible states of disrepair.)

I am desperate for a new instrument, one that will be mine forever. The one I have chosen is on the lower end of the financial spectrum, ($2955.00) as they range in price from $2000 to $90,000.
