Riding to Support Aussie Farmers

Few of us understand the hardwork & grit that goes into being an Aussie farmer, and for most of us, it's impossible to understand the desperation and heartbreak our farmers are currently experiencing with the longest, hottest drought in history.
This drought is forcing desperate moves - without water, our farmers can't grow produce and can't support livestock. Many are at the point where they are having to shoot starving, dehydrated animals because it's more humane than suffering. I was speaking to family in North West NSW who are seeing farmers, so low on water, that they are only showering once a week, and even to do that, they are using community centre showers in town - just so they can save water for their animals.
Without water, our farmers have no livelihood. They have no income, which means they will lose everything that they've worked so hard for. Can you even imagine the despair they are feeling? We've heard the stories of suicide - this will only get worse. This is what this video below discusses - it is so much worse than most of us can imagine!
Why does it matter to us? It is our farmers that grow alot of the food we eat - the meat, the produce, the bread, the milk. It is our farmers that grow the cotton for our clothes. Where will we be without them?
Our farmers need relief. Government isn't doing enough. Our farmers need financial support so that they don't lose everything.
Myself and some friends will be doing our part. On Sunday 26 August @ 6am we will be riding from Scone to Mudgee. This almost 200km ride will take us approximately 7-8 hours and we are doing it to raise awareness and funds for our farmers in crisis.

We are a few people trying to support our farmers and we ask that you donate to this cause. All funds will be going directly to a registered charity who is providing support, vouchers, etc, to our farmers in crisis.
