2084 Miles in a Rickshaw

This August, against our better judgement, the three of us (Hamish, Joe and Jacob) are driving over 2000 miles across India in a motorised tuk-tuk or in other words, a glorified lawnmower. In doing so we are hoping to raise money for two charities; Meningitis Now, in memory of our friend and Cool Earth to help prevent deforestation and climate change.
Meningitis Now
Almost two years ago, our friend Ollie Towler-Jones passed away to Meningitis. Whilst enjoying his favourite festival of the year, Ollie woke up on the Saturday morning with what he thought was a hangover. Four hours later, Ollie was found with a purple rash and unable to breath. He was airlifted to hospital where his parents were able to say goodbye.
We are raising money for Meningitis Now to help spread awareness and hopefully prevent others from losing loved ones. To find out more, please visit the Meningitis Now website.
Cool Earth
In addition, we are also raising money for Cool Earth, an organistion working to prevent deforestation and climate change. The importance of protecting the world's forest's is something that we feel is a good cause to get behind and though we may not be able to singlehandedly fix the issue, we can certainly do our bit. We are aiming to raise as much as possible by the 1st of August 2016 to be split equally between Meningitis Now and Cool Earth. To be transparent, 100% of the money donated to this fundraiser will be going directly to the two charities mentioned above. The actual adventuring will be funded by ourselves, but hey, why not help two good causes in the process?
