We Are Adopting!!
Rick and I have always known we wanted children. When all of our infertility treatments failed, we were heartbroken but this was simply a small setback. We are moving forward and excited for a new adventure! Now we get to create a family joined by love and adoption.
Adoption in the United States (outside of the foster system) ranges from $26k to well over $50k. While some agencies boast a lower fee scale, they are not adding medical, travel, legal or living expenses. Our agency (Bethany Christian Services) charges $28k for the entire process.
We are budgeting as tight as we can on Rick's military pay and saving my entire teacher salary toward this adoption. We are sacrificing as much as we can to make our goal, but $28k is a daunting task.
