It is with a heavy heart that I share that on September 9th, the world lost an incredible man at far too young an age. Richard Sabatino, 45, passed away after a three year battle with cancer. Rich was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, but there was no role he cherished more than that of dad to his three beautiful children, Alex, Caitlin, and Andrew.
Rich was born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey, the son of Jeanette and Isidoro (Ted) Sabatino. He met his wife, Carrie, in 2001, and they were married on November 13th, 2004. A more loving, supportive partnership you could never find as Rich and Carrie faced all of the ups and downs life threw their way with unparalleled strength and courage. They moved to Randolph in 2006 where they welcomed three beautiful babies and began to watch them grow. From coaching soccer teams to attending daddy/daughter dances, there was not one moment in their young lives that Rich wasn’t a hands on, devoted dad in every sense of the word. His sense of humor, outgoing personality, and devotion to his family are only a few of the many qualities that made Rich such a remarkable man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and remembered with love and laughter as that is what he always gave to those around him.
Many friends and loved ones have reached out asking how they could best help this wonderful family, and we believe that helping provide for his children’s future would be the most fitting tribute to the kind of man and father that Rich was.
