Music Lens Boston

Music Lens Boston is an eye-opening introduction to classical music.  As José Antonio Abreu, founder of the Venezuelan El Sistema movement, has said, "art is not just an aesthetic dimension of life.  It is a primary instrument for the development of individuals and societies."  

We are organizing a week-long summer program to introduce classical music to kids in the Somerville area who might not have much exposure to it.  Our goal is to create a curriculum which opens the doors to classical music by providing basic music theory, lessons on composers, and having musicians play for the students.

Classical music has changed both of our lives, and we seek to spread the joy, sense of meaning, and esprit de corps that playing and even listening to music can create.

Our goal is to introduce classical music to those who  might not otherwise have the chance to learn about it, so we want to keep Music Lens Boston as open as possible and completely free. We are grateful for every donation, no matter how small!
