Reviewers for Anti-Racist Description Guidelines

Donation protected
Archives for Black Lives in Philadelphia  (A4BLiP) has completed draft guidelines  for anti-racist archival description practices.  We look forward to sharing these with the community soon. Acknowledging that our group consists predominantly of white archivists, we plan to ask black archivists to review the guidelines before we finalize them to counterbalance the racism that may have crept into our work. We plan to compensate reviewers by paying each reviewer with a $100 honorarium.

About this fundraising effort. A4BLiP has established this GoFundMe to raise funds to pay reviewers.  We will close this fundraising effort when we have raised $1,000, which will allow us to pay 10 reviewers. If we do not reach our goal of $1,000, we will use each $100 increment to pay as many reviewers as we can. Any unused balance will go into the A4BLiP general fund to support other projects, such as community archives events.

About donating. The Delaware Valley Archivists Group serves as the fiscal agent for A4BLiP. The Delaware Valley Archivists Group is a 501(c)6, non-profit professional organization.  Please note, however, that donations to 501(c)6 organizations are not tax deductible according to IRS rules.
