Reunion Hotel Cancellation Fees

So after many requests for a 35th reunion, 4 of us, Cheryl Barela, Mary (Howell) Govaars, Brenda ( Brookman) Sinclair, and me - Susan ( Block) Ortolano got things in motion. We hired a reunion company, started to get the word out, and signed a separate contract per the reunion company's policy for a hotel venue. Ticket sales were low and the reunion company did not do the things that were to be done. As we got closer to Novemeber 4th and needed 88 ticket sales or we would owe a balance, we asked the company questions and asked for help. They didn't like it, they didn't feel they weren't holding up their ened of things, and decided to terminate our contract. They threatened to charge us cancelleation fees even though THEY cancelled, but so far have not. The hotel was another matter due to the separate contract. I negotiated as best I could and got a reduced cancellation fee. My name was the only name on that contract, and they expected me to pay the reduced fee immediately. Having volunteered my time for 2 previous reunions and gotten this started, I felt asking for your help would save me from the entire amount So I ask you to donate what you can. We have 10 days to raise the money. For those who purchased tickets, you should be getting a refund this week or early next week. I will be using mine to donate to this.
