Return Volunteer Trip to Nepal

Donation protected
My name is Avery Forsythe. I am 18 years old and a Colorado girl through and through. I have had the travel bug since my family lived in France for a winter when I was two. That bug persisted when my family, along with my grandparents and aunt, backpacked around Europe for four months when I was in fourth grade. Itching to continue exploring the world, I decided to take all my junior year classes online so I could travel around the world. I worked two jobs the summer before my travel year, and three jobs the summer after, obtaining just enough money to send myself to eleven countries in the span of six months. By far my favorite and the most transformative was Nepal. I was in Gorak Shep, a less than two hour walk from Everest Base Camp, when the April 25th, 2015 earthquake and avalanches hit. Over the next few hours, the walking wounded poured into our lodge. Men and women with smashed faces, dislocated shoulders, crushed ribs, and dead partners came seeking help. Five days after the quake, we were evacuated out of the country. Although I was grateful for being safe, I felt as if I abandoned the people of Nepal. They had done so much for me and had greatly enriched my life and all I wanted to do was help them. When I got home I put together fundraisers and donations boxes, but I never felt like it was enough, I just wanted to go back there and help rebuild and restore the country.

On February 14, 2016, I am going back to Nepal with my friend, Nathaniel, and his family. His dad, Brice, invented a stove to help with efficient and sustainable cooking in third world countries. We are going to Nepal to help with public health, rebuilding, distributing and testing the stove, and anything else we can do. (Here is a link to Brice's stove. Go check it out http://cfgv.org/pureflame/) We want to bring as much money as we can with us to donate to various organizations  and to give to people in need. I also need a little help paying for this trip because with college coming this fall my family and I don't have money to spare. Any money I am able to raise I will split 60% (for the Nepalese people) and 40% (toward my ticket) until I reach $1,000 toward my ticket and then all donation will go directly to the Nepali people. I hope to raise the $1,000 that my ticket cost and $4,000 to donate. Every little donation helps! Share with your friends, family, long lost cousin, everyone! I will keep you updated on our progress and plans with the trip and let you know how the money is being spent and the difference we are making together. Thank you so much for your support!

I also have made a video about my experience while in Nepal, what I will be doing when I go back, and why I need your help. I worked very hard on this video and it means a lot to me so if you could take seven minutes out of your day and watch it, it would mean the world to me. If the video moves you donate $20 and share with a friend. If everyone who watches does that we can reach $5,000 in no time at all.
