Rescuing an Australian Brumby

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Isabella Morellini.
I go to the Perth Waldorf Steiner School, an independent school which provides an education based on the philosophies of Rudolf Seiner. Among many things, my school allows year 12 students to explore a specific topic of their choice for the entirety of their final year in school. There are four parts to the project, two of which are a thorough essay about your topic and a practical aspect, the practical component being why I am setting up this gofundme page.
From a young age I have always loved horses and knew that this passion was exactly what I wanted my year 12 project to be about, but more recently as I've been trying to narrow down the complexity of horses, I've come to a conclusion of two main ideas. To explore the relationship between horses and humans through out history, or to look specifically at the Australian Brumby. Combining these intriguing ideas have lead me to the exciting prospect of rescuing a Brumby myself! As you can imagine this ambitious goal is going to be costly and quite complicated, but I feel it is time to push aside my fears about the finances and pursue this opportunity of rescuing a Brumby (and no doubt finding my new best friend).
I was excited about an opportunity I stumbled across a few weeks ago and have now looked into it thoroughly. It is a 5-6 day clinic where using gentle hands and a patience heart, you befriend and form a partnership with one of Australia's magnificent Brumbies. These Brumbies will have otherwise been sent away to slaughter, so it is important to remember the trauma they have already experienced. Using natural horsemanship techniques, you handle a Brumby of your choosing and form a lasting friendship that I will be lucky enough to bring home to Perth.  These clinics are usually held in NSW, although next year I may be participating in their Northern Territory clinic instead.
The clinic in itself, although being extremely affordable for the valuable knowledge and irreplaceable Brumby you acquire, is still way above the threshold of what I can provide, standing at $3,300. There will be a fare for transporting the Brumby by truck across Australia somewhere above $3,000, and of course there is always the modest amount for my airfare. So I have come to the conclusion that the grand total needed will be  $10,000. Hypothetically, there's a few extra dollars for emergencies or ideally to donate to Brumby Protection groups, but you never really know what could happen and its better to be safe than sorry, especially when theres a Brumbies welfare at stake.
With the new year fast approaching, I am eager to book my place in the Northern Territory clinic which should be taking place in mid January through to February. Places are limited, so having the full clinic fee ASAP is essential for pursuing this exciting possibility. Owning a horse has been a lifelong dream of  mine, but it is not the ownership aspect that truly invigorates me; it is the connection, friendship and partnership I long for, the freedom we will have together. Saving one Brumby is my first step to helping the crisis on a scale that I can manage, while giving one horse a second chance at life. And together we'll explore my topic, our topic, the relationship between Horses and humans.
