ONE LAST TIME!!!
I'm Amanda/Penguin/Dragon/Hey You. I've been struggling and unemployed for several months now. As of Monday, I have one PT job and may be looking at a second one. All while finishing up grad school. I have few backup resources available to me. Applying for jobs left and right and most never respond, let alone grant me an interview. It's been frustrating and stressful.
This money is for rent, some food, and paying for my cap and gown (regalia) to graduate in less than two weeks. If I get a little more, then I can pay the electric bill as well. Having electricity is a good thing when you have a computer you rely upon.
I still need to pay rent for August. I'm tapping my school loan for an advance (I'd prefer not to, but it's something) of 250 (the max), but still need 600 more. Rent is 750, but I also need my graduation regalia (cap, gown, announcements to send to older relatives to let them know I accomplished something big) at $60 and then maybe a little food money. With work, I'll be able to get back on food stamps. I won't make enough to also buy food. Yes, I'd rather have a nice well-paying job, but I'll get there. For now, this means I'm no longer begging for help after August.
I can't afford to move anywhere else in Portland, and I have to stay for the time being. I am grateful to friends and family, and some strangers, who have helped along the way. Just one more hurdle.
