Remembering Martha : A Celebration
Donation protected
Please help remember Martha on her birthday and help fund projects for bereaved children.
On January 10th 2014, Martha was killed by a speeding lorry as she crossed the road to work, leaving behind her loving family including 8 siblings and so many friends and family members who miss her terribly. She was only 15 years old.
On the 13th June this year, Martha would have celebrated her 18th birthday.
Martha's mum Karen continues to fight for justice for her daughter, campaigning for a safe crossing on the road when Martha was killed. The CPS never convicted the driver who killed Martha.
I've set up this page for Karen, and for Martha. I want her to be able to put on this celebration of Martha's life on what should have been her 18th birthday without needing to worry about the financial strain. Karen has been so bold and brave in her fight. She is a much loved Mother, Wife and friend.
The hole left by Martha's departure has been huge, she is so greatly missed and this event will not only give everyone the opportunity to remember her, but also for something for her little brothers and sisters to look forward to. We need to consider hiring a venue, food, entertainment for the children and other guests and transport costs.
We will be holding fundraising events on Facebook, eBay and via our friends shops including MustDestroyJewellery - we will keep everyone posted on here and via the Facebook page (coming shortly).
You can also help by visiting our Amazon wish list which will be up and running soon and helping with decorations and other low cost practical items.
Every penny that exceeds what is used to make this happen will go directly to a charity very close to Karen's heart- Nelson's Journey, who provide welfare services and respite breaks and activities for children and young effected by bereavement.
For more info, please see the links provided - we thank you for your kindness!
