Disabled Riding Facility Arena
The Reece Center has been serving disabled children and adults in the Atlanta Community for 30 years! We have seen the amazing things that interactions with horses can do for people with disabilities of all ages and we want to expand our program further through an indoor arena which would allow us to have classes even in inclement weather as well as expand our classes to the evenings.
Equine Assisted Therapy helps to build muscle tone, coordination and balance. It helps to enhance communication skills, confidence, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and so much more. To experience the joy of a student that could not sit up on their own when they first start riding to the day they ride independently is truly a special gift that these horses and The Reece Center give.
The Reece Center is run completely by volunteers! We have no paid staff. All donations go directly to horse care and program maintenance. Our hope is to raise enough money to build an indoor arena to enhance our program and see the light shine in many more riders' eyes! Thank you for your generous donation!
