Recovery and Relocation

Many of you who will be reading this will know or remember my good friend Ralph (Jaseer). I have known him for the past 22 years. He was in the US since he was 5 years old but the paperwork necessary to make him a citizen was never filled out. All that time he thought he was a citizen, but turns out he was a resident whose papers had expired! He found all of this out when they detained him at an airport upon re-entering the U.S. when returning home from a trip to London. He was held in immigration jail for over a year and was then dropped off in the country he escaped when he was 5 years old: Nicaragua. He was left there without knowing anyone and just had to find out how to survive the best way he could. He was told he could reapply to come back after 5 years, but nothing has happened for him as of yet. It has been close to 6 years since this happened and he lost everything.

Nicaragua is pretty much a war zone. They are on the brink of a civil war. The people are in such a state of desperation that the crime is sky high. He said practically everyday he sees people walk up to cars at the stop lights and they would shoot the driver in the head and pull them out of the car to steal it. The police are killing people by the dozens and driving around with them in the back of trucks in order to intimidate the citizens to obey them. The government is controlling their water and electricity making them pay by the day for it or shutting it off totally whenever they feel like it. He had a job but the pay is minimal and his monthly salary was around what a typical job in the USA pays in two days. He has gotten robbed and attacked several times since he has been there. This last time was really bad and almost cost him his life. After they robbed him of his months check they shot him in the stomach with a .45 calibre and the exit wound blew out a huge hole in his back!

Due to being shot he was immobilized and bed ridden. He has had to be on a liquid diet and use a colostomy bag for months. He lost his job and needed surgery which he has to pay out of pocket for. His rent was overdue and he was in a state of desperation. He reached out to me and asked if I could help. He said he has a job lined up in Costa Rica because they are looking for professionals with good English skills. There are some things he would need to be able to make that migration, but his current situation does not allow him to save anything. He is hoping to be able to get the following in order to keep him afloat until his new job starts to compensate him.

Ticket- $320
Visa- $180
5 months rent- $600
Surgery bill- $400
5 months Food- $500
Medicine- $200

Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.

I hope and pray that we are able to come together and assist him so that he is able to get out of this dangerous situation and start a new life to support himself and his dependents. Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated.
