Rebuild Jeremie Now

My name is Nancy Hibbard and I am from Portage, Wisconsin. I have worked to improve the lives of Haitians since 1997 and lived in Haiti from 2004-2015, working in a variety of jobs and locations, but primarily in Jeremie. The Haitian people that I want to help are not related by blood, but I consider many of them to be my family.
Not only did I work as a translator and teacher, but I was also a part of many medical missions and building projects (schools, homes, workshops, etc.) I firmly believe in working side-by-side with the locals in order to improve their lives as well as the local economy.
In times of disasters such as now, money is the only way we can make a difference. The people of Jeremie are in dire need of food, clean water, and housing.  Without help from abroad, many are building houses like the one in the picture above. They have nothing.
One 2' x 4' piece of sheet metal costs $5.
One 2x4x16 costs $11.72.
One case of 4" nails costs $27.34.
How many Haitians, earning $1-$2/day (if they can find work), can afford to put a roof on their home, let alone re-build? Very few were able to before the hurricane and now it's nearly impossible as they must focus on finding food and water in order to survive.
100% of the monies raised will buy building supplies from businesses located in Haiti and will pay wages to the people living in the neighborhood to do the work.
Funds are needed as soon as possible in order that people may once again have a roof over their heads. A team of construction people from Wisconsin and I will hand-deliver the money.
Tonight, if you have a house to go home to, food on your table, clean water to drink, clothese in your closet, a tv to watch, a computer on which to work/play, and a job that enables you to live a relatively-easy life, please show your gratitude by donating to people who have none of the above.
100% of the money will be used as stated above. NO OVERHEAD COSTS involved!
Rebuild Jeremie Now!!!

UPDATE: After lots of research and training, the first house is nearly complete. Still needs doors, windows and painting. A second building is also in the works. In addition, a large wall is also being constructed in Port au Prince around a business. The area has lots of traffic—a great way to promote the project.
