Since I laid eyes on my wife I knew that we would have a beautiful family.
My wife and I have been trying to start our own family for about 2 1/2 years now with no success. We set out to get answers from God and our doctors. First I was tested because it was the simplest and least expensive. All went well for those tests, pfeww we were revealed. Then my urologist recommended that we shoot for IUI
(Intrauterine Insemination). Ok so we set up an appointment with an OBGYN to talk about it, well here come more tests and more money. Oh by the way we are covered but only 50%. We go through all of the tests one of them was pretty hard on my wife its the HSG testing ($683). Ya know its hard to watch your wife go through something that is totally out of your control to make better or to "fix". We sit back down with the OBGYN to talk about the results. Dr. Murray went through all of our blood work and then we get to the x-ray from the HSG I remember it very well I will never forget what she said because my heart dropped, " You see this here that is the uterus its lit up and that's good, now there is a fibroid there that could be causing infertility but that's easily treated, what I am concerned about is this area here (she points to the tubes) here we can't see your tubes lit up, your tubes are blocked. One is blocked about half way and the other is blocked, this is treatable but its expensive." Everything else from there was a blur. We received notice that the treatment for investigating the tubes is $7-$8,000 we are asking for $6,000 to cover any additional costs. We aren't sure if this price includes the opening of the tubes or not. This whole process has been extremely hard on us but I know with our faith in God and our families support we will get through this. It's not like us to ask for money because we have always made it on our own but this is a huge chunk of money that we don't have.
