Rally for Gentry & Dawson!

Donation protected
Dawson, 4 lbs 10 oz & Gentry 4 lbs 8 oz were born at 35 weeks on April 20th at Cox Branson. Shortly afterwards Dawson was transferred to the Cox South NICU. Gentry followed 3 days later. It's been an up & down roller coaster ride ever since.
It was a huge blessing when Gentry was discharged at 4 weeks old !!!  He's been growing & doing just great, except for a couple of hernias they are watching & will deal with a little later.  Last weigh in he was 7 lbs 15 oz., a gain of almost 3 1/2 lbs since birth!  :)
Dawson, however, is still n the NICU, going on 8 weeks now ...  Ugh
He's struggled w the whole concept of eating, swallowing & breathing all at the same time. His brain ultrasound didn't show any fluid on the brain. He was anemic but had 2 days of blood transfusions over the weekend & is doing better n that area. His scope of his airway came back w no defects & his chest x-ray showed lungs developed & no fluid.  Today he had an MRI of his brain to make sure there was no fluid the US might have missed & to check to see if there is adequate connectivity. Awaiting the final report on that still.
Bottom line ...  this has been extremely hard, to say the very least.
Thank God Katie & Jason have been able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house during this time, since their home n Blue Eye is like an hr & a half away. They serve one meal a day there & if they miss it they can warm up leftovers when they get back at night so all of that has been a huge gift, for sure.
The nurses & Dr's n the NICU have been amazing, but as anyone can imagine this whole experience has turned their lives completely upside down.
Carter was w Jason''s Awesome family for several weeks during the weekdays & up here on the weekends, which was such an Amazing thing to know he was being taken such good care of. We were all so grateful for all of them in AR. He's back up here all the time now.
Jason''s been back to work now for several weeks & driving back & forth to SDC n Branson & to the house each day to make sure the animals r taken care of.
Katie has been going to her own & Gentry Drs appts & trying to b there as much as possible w Dawson at his feedings every 3 hrs in between being w Carter who isn't allowed n the NICU ...  :(
They are incredible thankful for all of the love & support they've received these last several weeks from so many ppl.
This whole experience has been very overwhelming & stressful emotionally/mentally, physically & financially. They are looking so forward to being able to take Dawson home & be a family all together. But they know he is in the exact place he needs to be in order to figure out why he is still struggling w these apnea events where he stops breathing & changes color mostly when eating so much that he has to be moved all around to come out of it. Not fun at all.
We did this gofundme for those who might like to help in some way w the expenses they are experiencing during these 8 weeks & as it is looking to be a few more to come.
There have been significant amounts spent on gas & food these last several weeks as well as many other unexpected things along the way that we are hoping to offset some of these expenses for them & relieve a little of the stresses they are feeling.
Most of all, we are so appreciative of all who have been praying. They have sure been felt.  We ask for your continued prayers for their whole family as they find out these MRI results & any future testing.
Each of them are feeling it in their own way.  They are leaning on God right now more than ever, knowing He is w them every single day & are so grateful for that promise.
Thanks again for opening your hearts & allowing us to share this journey w you. It helps tremendously to share the load w others who love & care about their family.
Many Blessings to each of you & to Dawson, Gentry, Carter, Katie & Jason ...
