Help for My Two Year Old Nephew

Hi, my name is Tiffany. Three weeks ago, I was a student, then I suddenly and unexpectedly became the guardian of my 2 year old nephew “S”. I am usually a very private person, but I recognize that I am in need of a lot of help. I have barely been able to attend school and have not been able to do any school work since this happened.
In the next few months, I am supposed to be writing my exams for my last term of law school, graduating, preparing for the Bar, and starting my post-law school job. However, my life has completely changed in the past few weeks. “S” was removed from the care of his mother due to addiction and mental health issues. With no other suitable guardian in the area, it came down to my nephew either being placed in my care or foster care. Though I know the challenges ahead will be immense, I love my nephew too much to see him placed in foster care.
As I have yet to start working, I am stressed and frankly, overwhelmed with the costs of suddenly having to raise a child. For the last few weeks, I have been relying on donations of baby items and toys. I have to move out of my apartment as my lease only allows for two occupants (previously, my former roommate and myself) and because I can’t place my roommate in a situation that she did not ask for.
I will have to find a new place to live for my nephew and me, while ensuring that I have enough money to support a child before I begin my work placement in August. In addition to paying for an unanticipated increase in rent and other fixed bills, I will need to find day care and all necessities for my nephew. I will also have to get furniture as I was in a furnished rental. My main concern is making sure that I have access to enough financial resources to properly provide food and shelter for my nephew until August. It is very difficult given the unanticipated timing of what has happened. As you may imagine, this is an extremely stressful time for me.
I am really looking for $10,000. This will help to take care of my nephew before I start work in August, and help alleviate day care costs after. Any left over funds will be donated to a charity helping children of addicted parents.
