“Why don’t the kids from Kiel deserve our be
st effort?” – #RaiderNationRenovation#

**NO REFERENDUM!!**

Fast forward to 2016, our need to start a Middle School track team increased dramatically due to the number of kids interested in participating.  We currently have 42 girls and 30 boys interested in participating at the high school level.  In 2016 we had 22 track and field athletes go on to participate at State.  Great, right?  Yes, however, our state caliber track athletes are not able to even compete in a home meet, which means they cannot host a “parent’s night” to be recognized.  With the current state of the track, (cracked pavement/surfaces, etc.) we are not able to host home conference meets, regional or sectional meets.  These meets could bring a minimum of 40 teams from different schools to Kiel – Think about the economic impact for our community!

Kiel has 70+ football athletes and 25-30 girls and boys involved in soccer.  When you include those that participate in track and field and cross country, that is a large percentage of our student body!  The current football field is an uneven playing field that’s currently playable, but needs drastic renovations.  In the Eastern WI conference of 7 schools, our facilities are ranked the worst.  We rank dead last in track and football facilities.  We are one of the largest growing communities in the conference & county.  Businesses are growing and expanding, needing increased work force.  We want to attract young families to Kiel – a new updated facility would do that!  There are other schools in our area/conference with a smaller enrollment that have significantly better facilities – why would we not want the best for our kids?

This new facility would be a source of pride for the community – we would want the community to be able to utilize the track as well.

The complex plan includes:  The Track (adding a synthetic track, Long Jump, Triple Jump, and Pole Vault pits), The Field (possible synthetic field or a complete field renovation), The Stands (provide 1500 seat grandstands with press box), Concessions and Bathrooms, Lighting (add lights to baseball field to host night games and increase field and facility usage), Community (make new track and facility open to community members).
