Help re build kennel after flood!

Danny & Ron's Rescue is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, no-kill rescue dedicated to saving and helping dogs in need. Partners Danny Robertshaw & Ron Danta have been saving and rescuing dogs for years and officially founded their rescue in 2005 after learning about the animals left homeless after Hurricane Katrina. Your donations pay for food, medical care, spay, neuter, supplies, and housing for these adorable dogs. It will also assist those who cannot afford medical help for their own pets. Many of our dogs are considered unadoptable due to age or chronic medical problems. They rely on the support of generous donors to defray the cost of their medical expenses. The governor of South Carolina has called the rains from Hurricane Joaquin a 'thousand-year event' -- the damage is devastating throughout the state.

Danny & Ron's Rescue is grateful that our 52 dogs and staff members are safe. However, we lost our entire heating/air system to the flood. The Doghouse basement is filled with water to the rafters. Our furnace is completely submerged, all air/heat tubing is lost. We have no flood insurance. The D&RR Doghouse has been in the same location for 30 years, on high ground, and has never experienced flood/water damage. Flood insurance seemed unnecessary; we might have to rethink that notion. The structural integrity of the basement is in question; general contractors will be out to assess the damage once police have given the okay for roads to be cleared.

Financially, this is a big hit to our rescue efforts. Until we have assessed the cost to repair the damage done to the Doghouse, we must pull back on our rescue efforts for a short time. We will keep you posted on the damage assessment. Thank you for your concern, thoughts, and prayers.
