I suppose that's where my story begins. My name is Josh Valley, and I'm a independent writer/blogger with a graduate degree in theology.
I'm raising money to help fund and further develop my platform at www.joshvalley.com. I have two young daughters and a beautiful wife, but it's been difficult to find work in the super-competitive editorial/writing world.
It's been a tough season for our family, especially trying to make ends meet in the high-cost city of Toronto with only one working parent.
That's why we're making a life-style change and moving to my hometown of Thunder Bay, Ontario, where my wife and I met and fell in love. We have so many amazing friends and family here, and it's a much more calm and affordable place to live.
One we get set-up in Thunder Bay, I plan to work on my writing and media ministry part-time, while helping my parents in a grocery store they own, and possibly even becoming a part-time military chaplain as well. It's and exciting time! But nothing is concrete or guaranteed, as we've come to learn through some difficulties my family has faced over the past year.
My goal is to raise $12,000 to allow me to write and develop my digital ministry on a part-time basis for one year. This will not only support my writing ministry and allow me to develop things like a donation page on my site, but will go along way in helping my family make ends meet as we make this exciting transistion to Thunder Bay.
I hope to be able to raise the funds by the end of May, 2016. Two months from now.
This means so much to me, as a person who finds so much joy in being gifted as a writer and sharing my reflections and thoughts with the world. It's very difficult to be an independent writer, especially when you have a young family. To raise this money would seriously cause me to explode in joy and thankfulness!
It's a humble place to be to ask othes for their generosity. And yet, I feel called to reach out and ask for your help.
