Help us rebuild school in Amatrice
Donation protected
Dear Casa Spello guests and friends,
Many of you know I am an American who owns and manages a vacation rental in Spello (Umbria), called Casa Spello http://casaspello.com/ where many of you stayed.
I was touched by the numerous supportive emails asking if Casa Spello was affected by the earthquake. We are very fortunate that our beautiful Casa Spello and Spello has not suffered from the earthquake. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join me in a small fundraising campaign to help the victims of Amatrice.
A friend, Anne Robichaud, who is a well known guide from Assisi has inspired me to raise money towards rebuilding the school in Amatrice (see first picture above). Sergio Pirozzi, the mayor of Amatrice, wants to make it a priority.
During the month of November I plan to withdraw these funds to my personal bank account, and bring that money with me when I visit Amatrice. There, I will make a personal assessment by meeting with some of the local officials to determine the best way to appropriate the funds that I hope to raise with your support. I want to make sure the funds are appropriated towards the school project.
Can spaghetti help the victims of the earthquake?
In addition to generously donating to this campaign, I would encourage you to invite your friends for a spaghetti all'amatriciana dinner. Please ask your guests to donate a minimum for $25 per person towards this effort. The famous spaghetti all'amatriciana is named after the town of Amatrice.
This simple yet delicious recipe will help us in our campaign. We know Spaghetti dinners have been successful in raising funds.
