Kylan's Miracle Heart

What do you say when you ask the doctor how your baby lives with his condition and she replies " He doesn't"... How do you take your next breath, your next step? How do you sleep and eat and walk and talk when you know that the world will never be the same?
We are so sad to report that our great, amazing, precious little miracle baby Kylan Ray Hughes is once again in Egleston Childrens Hospital in Atlanta. He is the miracle baby of Sarah and Brandon from Dalton, GA. Kylan was born on May 25th, 2014 with Pulmonary Stenosis, ASD, VSD, Coronary Artery Fistula, Hepatic AVM's, Hydronephrosis and Hypothyroidism. Kylan was in the hospital for 3 months after he was born and since then has been in the hospital several times. He has always amazed his doctors with not only his will to survive but also his ability to thrive.

On Tuesday, September 22nd, Kylan suffered a bleed in his lungs. He was life flighted from Dalton to Atlanta and since that day, Kylan's doctors have been "surprised and taken aback" by what they see going on in this precious little boys body. They have never seen an anatomy like his. Kylan's doctors are reaching out to Surgeons, Specialist and Hospitals all over the country to try and find anyone who has seen this before . So far they have had no success in finding anyone who has seen his anatomy before. They are in the process now of reaching out globally to try and find a treatment.

This was so unexpected and has been a lot to process and we still have a lot of scary days ahead of us and the unknowing is tough, Kylan has proven many times that miracles DO happen and we believe 100% that he is going to again.

Brandon and Sarah have not left the hospital, have rarely left his side. The world outside continues even though theirs has stopped and is centered around one room, one bed, one tiny little life. They still have all of their monthly expenses that have to be paid. Just staying at the hospital is very expensive. Sarah has been unable to work since right before Kylan's birth due to his very fragile medical condition. And now Brandon will be out of work for the foreseeable future to be with his son. He will still have to pay their medical insurance. They also have a 6 year old at home. Kylan needs both of his parents with him.
We all ask, "What can I do to help?" Relieving some of the financial stress and praying for healing and strength are all that any of us can really do right now. Prayers are powerful and we feel them all the time.

We had a Go Fund Me account when Kylan was born and were so incredibly blessed and thankful for any contributions given. We are asking for donations again. Any money that you can give, $5, $10, $100, any amount that you want to give, will be appreciated. We don't know how long this leg of their journey will last, we just know that God is with this precious family and will supply their needs.

kylan has a Facebook page  if you would like to read about his journey.
