Service Dog

Angel and I met in a college chemistry class. This was very soon after he decided to leave the United States Coast Guard after dedicating 10 years to his country. As a student, I did not fully understand the struggles that he had endured as a young man while in the Military. I had a daughter when we met who he took under his wing and continues to love and care for her as if she was his own. Angel had always dreamed of starting his own family and settling down.
About 2 years after we met we found out that we were expecting a baby boy. Soon after our son was born, we had to face one of the biggest challenges of our lives. Angel had experienced his first seizure. After intense testing, we could only be grateful it wasn’t a tumor or fatal diagnosis. But this still left many unanswered questions. Recalling a cold night out at sea, many years ago, waking up at a nurses station, was just the start of unanswered questions that were the beginning of his life change. He has described times while driving and blinking to had only ended up further in his travels without being able to recall how he got there. Needless to say, there was never any follow up on the situation by a medical team.
Angel became a US Veteran at the age of 29, only to be diagnosed with epilepsy after starting his family. This caused him to lose his independence, many job opportunities, and most important he almost lost his life in a car accident. Our son is now 2 and our daughter 6 and I know as a father he wants to give the world to his kids but feels limited and discouraged at times. We do not know what the future holds but we do want to be able to give back to the company, Amazing Tails LLC., who is helping in getting a service dog for the safety and protection of Angel and our family. Not only will a service dog give me as a mother, partner in life, and a woman, the peace of mind to continue to do my everyday tasks but also give my life partner a chance in return to be the father he longs to be without the fear of endangering the safety of our amazing little family.
