Our pedal is worn out. Actually our entire van needs to call it a day. It is used on a daily basis to connect our residents with disabilities to their community. Please help GAPP Adult Family Home acquire a newer van. We are a non-profit group home in the greater Gig Harbor area.
Our home places a strong emphasis on resident choice and healthy living. Residents are involved in Special Olympics sports including bowling, softball, basketball, soccer and swimming. Two residents work three days a week. They visit the YMCA weekly. Attendance at art classes, at sporting and theatrical events including plays, musicals, and movies as well as monthly dances are among the activities enjoyed by residents.
We have $15,000 to put towards the purchase of a safe, reliable low mileage mini van that is wheelchair accessible. This goes a long ways but not quite far enough to complete a purchase.
We have located a suitable van which is owned privately and is listed through Craigslist for $36,500. The owner is willing to reduce the price to $30,000 and we estimate that taxes and license will cost an additional $3000.
