Protecting Sacred Hawaiian Mountain

One day, I found the following post on Facebook from Lanny Sinkin.
"Went into a store to look for two gifts for loved ones. Contested case has drained all my funds, so I was looking for something very inexpensive. Started visiting with the owner and mentioned that I was involved in the Mauna Kea contested case. He said he has watched the hearings on television and asked if I was Lanny Sinkin. When I confirmed, he said my money was no good in his store, so pick out whatever I wanted. May all those who have given of their love, time, and money to participate in the contested case or to support those participating in the contested case share in the generosity I found."
What Lanny was referring to is an administrative hearing that is now taking place in Hawaii to determine whether the largest telescope in the world will be constructed on Mauna Kea, a mountain that Native Hawaiians hold sacred. Lanny volunteered to represent the Temple of Lono, a traditional Hawaiian faith, in challenging the telescope permit.
Lanny's friends started this "Go Fund Me" account to help show our appreciation and support for his time, expertise and expenses so he could continue the legal resistance to the desecration of Mauna Kea's sacred land!
Now Lanny is moving to North Dakota to provide legal services to those Water Protectors at Standing Rock charged with criminal offenses. Lanny will be redirecting the funds donated here to the Protector Interveners -- the other parties in the contested case hearing -- many of whom have also made significant financial sacrifices to participate in this hearing process.
