Marta's Dance Mission in Uganda

Donation protected
A few months ago I went to Mbarara in Uganda.
I was there to lead two weeks of dance workshops for 150 children who are orphans or come from very poor families. At the end of these workshops we performed several times during the multi-thousand New Dawn Christian conference.

My dream and the reason for this fundraising is to return (in June 2018) to these children and continue telling them about the love of God and the beauty of man. I will do this through various forms of dance. I would like to stimulate the wonderful creativity, which is hidden in them, to awaken their sensitivity to the world of art, to strenghten their self-esteem and hope.

My project is called GUIDANCE.
The word GUIDANCE means: to 'lead' but for me it also means:
'God U and I DANCE'.
Life is a dance ... Who's leading you in this dance?

I'm a dance artist and where dance is my whole life, passion and work.
Through this art form I can often express myself much more accurately than through words. Thanks to physical movement I am able to bring out and convey the basic as well as the deeper, hidden emotions that dwell in us.

All the videos you see here are recordings of our pray-through-dance material which we performed at the New Dawn Christian Conference. However, this is not the only outcome of the work I have done over the 2 week workshop period.
The main focus during the classes was to teach all my students of the basics of contemporary dance infused with many creative tasks, in which they were allowed to work on movement material in their individual way.

They also had an opportunity to participate in daily beautiful creative craft workshops led by my friend Ania.
The financial costs of going on a mission are very high and I'm not able to cover them all by myself. The money raised here will allow me to pay the costs of flying, staying in Uganda and running many dance workshops for children and adolescents.I would like to buy them teaching aids and props, dress them in colorful costumes. I would like to go for at least 2 months. I'm planning to relocate about every two weeks to a different part of Uganda and run project in various schools across the country. By doing that, I hope to make the workshops as accesible as possible to a larger number of students than previously. Project Guidance will engage intensive and systematic work with students as part of their extra curricular classes during the school term.

hank you very much for help.
