The Dominican Republic needs your help! A state of emergency was declared after devastating floods ripped through the island in November destroying homes and businesses, and displacing more than 20,000 people. Many, mostly poor, families lost everything.
Your cash donation is desperately needed to help cover the $2,846 cost to ship donated goods. The 20-foot container can hold supplies to help 125 families, including water, blankets, canned goods, toiletries, protein bars, baby formula, non-prescription medicines, etc.
We are hosting a series of events to raise the funds needed to transport the donated items. The next event is on Dec 29th 2016 at 2222 S Park st, Madison WI 53711 Time: 7-9pm . Additional events will be announced. Check back here for additional events…
We’re hoping to ship the container in January, the precise date is yet to be announced; it all depends on how quickly we can raise the funds to cover the cost. It depends on YOU.
We have coordinated with local civil defense and Students4helpinc to distribute the goods to needy families in the affected areas. Please donate today!
