Rebirth of Pine Canyon

Pine Canyon Camp is a special place to praise, a place to have fun, and a place to be yourself. Located in the Chirachua Mountains of southeastern Arizona, Pine Canyon Camp has been serving youth, school groups, special needs campers, church organizations, environmental groups, clubs, and other various groups since 1946.
Pine Canyon is a non-profit 501c3 organization on land leased from the Forest Service. After the Horseshoe 2 fire and the subsequent flooding closed the camp to clean up. This rebuilding took a couple of years, with much work from volunteers and hard work. Since then, Pine Canyon has held numerous camps - and all of them have positively changed the lives of youth and adults alike. Then, April 14th, 2016 the Forest Service told us that Pine Canyon Camp is now in a new flood plain; the camp will be closed. Because of this, many of us will be losing our safe place, our light in the mountains, and our home.
Our campers are devastated. One camper stated:
"Pine Canyon changed my perspective on life and the way I choose to go into different situations on a daily basis. I think camp was about true love and relationships, things that are not really taken seriously today. I think camp really allowed everyone to open up their minds and see a new light and realize that there is more to life than being to yourself, instead being a part of something bigger and greater and seeing that we're all in this together. We're all here to help each other get through life. Camp really opened my eyes to see that I love people and that I want to continue to spread love and kindness in all that I do."
We would like to relocate our camp on newly acquired land close to the Chiricahua National Monument. We would use this money to construct a new camp with facilities, cabins, sports equipment, and to create a new home for youth and groups across Southern Arizona.
We want this new camp to be a special and inspiring place. By funding our project, you will ensure that future generations of campers get to enjoy all that we have done at Pine Canyon Camp.
