NARCAN saves the lives of those addicted to Opiates, giving them a chance to get sober. It has no adverse effects and it is not addictive.
Philadelphia's First Responders and Police need to be equipped with NARCAN. State and federal sources have not provided enough funding for every officer to have the doses they need, even if they are trained in NARCAN use. Please donate what you can to help prevent further loss of life to the opioid crisis.
NARCAN/Naloxone is opiate antagonist; a medication that is able to reverse an opiod overdose. It works by removing opiods from the brain's receptors, but only temporarily-- allowing them to seek emergency medical treatment. Learn more about how NARCAN works here.
First Responder and Police NARCAN carry is a major step in the right direction. 240+ lives have been
saved with NARCAN/Naloxone since 2014 in Delaware Country alone. The number of people affected by this epidemic is sadly on the rise, and many of the deaths suffered in our community are completely preventable.
