A Home for Dembo - House Fund

Donation protected

What is it about?
I'm Tristan, a 27 year old Australian who has no history of charity work (other than personally supporting someone). I started speaking to a Gambian guy named Dembo, whom - after I was convinced his story is legitimate - I have started trying to help financially from time to time.

Dembo is 19, lives near Brikama, in the West of Gambia. His family includes himself, his wife and recently born son. He is also responsible for three young siblings.
Dembo, his brothers and sisters are orphans as both parents died a couple of years ago, leaving Dembo in the impossible situation of sustaining his family with minimal income.
Dembo is the only one capable to work, and does make bricks, though in seasons where it is wet, there is practically no money due to the rain. Right now is wet season. They have zero money left from their late parents, and the only good thing they have going is that an old plot of land with a half finished house is now in Dembo's name (thanks to help I received previously in this GoFundMe).

Now I am reopening this GoFundMe to help them actually build on the house that was passed on from their parents. Owning a house would mean the world for an underprivileged family of orphans - as you can imagine.

The property is incomplete, as you can see from the photo's, and currently unlivable. This is a problem, as the government gives limited time to complete dwellings even if the property is registered (6 years since the start and therefore it must be done by the end of the year, according to Dembo).

The most urgent need is to have windows, doors and exterior paint, as well as some kind of fencing done. There are obviously other things like floors and furniture but that would be less urgent compared to the immediate needs.
Dembo was quoted by local builders approx $6000 to complete the house - including everything to make the one home livable for the family.

So if you are feeling like you should give, please donate here, or share this page. (But the more the better, as they have expenses such as paying off rent).I will be giving regular updates about the situation and how things go when this house is (with faith) completed.
All donations, as is usual for a GoFundMe are not tax deductible due to this not being a registered charity, however you do receive a sort of receipt email from GoFundMe.
Money is being transferred via WorldRemit as soon as I receive it. I will keep a receipt, and get a copy of documents via Dembo to ensure this is all as legit as I can make it (in the end it's a gift to hopefully secure a better future for this family). Feel free to message me on Facebook for any more questions.

Thanks and God bless.
Tristan Crowley.
