Help Pat see Italy while she's able

Dearest family, friends, and kind friends to be,

Please help me make my dear friend's wish a reality.

My precious friend, Pat Williams, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer last August.  By the time it was discovered and staged at M.D. Anderson Cancer Clinic it had spread to her liver, lungs, and abdominal wall - Stage 4 Cancer!  

For the past nine months she has endured the horrors of Chemotherapy bravely and met each challenge head on.  The staff at Sacred Heart Cancer Center has been wonderful throughout treatment.  She has responded well and we are continuing to believe for a miracle as she continues her Chemo but her prognosis is not good.  The survival rate for Pancreatic Cancer is somewhere around 6% which includes those who are able to surgically remove the tumor.  Pat is not a candidate for surgery.
 Knowing that her time is limited, it is Pat’s wish to make a trip to Venice, Florence, and Rome, Italy.  While an extended trip can be taxing on the even the most seasoned traveler we must plan to be gone double the time required for a healthy traveler to allow for rest days.  In addition, her wellbeing is dependent on quality rest which means we must book nicer than average rooms while we are there.  This coupled with the extended time needed will make for an expensive trip indeed.
Pat has been a Registered Nurse for forty years and has recently retired from the Escambia County Health Department because of her illness.  She served for many years on the staff of Baptist and Sacred Heart Hospitals.  Her medical knowledge of the coming days is a mixed blessing.

I have been staying with Pat through her treatments and have had a limited work schedule so my ability to make this wish a reality depends on your help.  It is not in my character to ask for help even when I know I need it.  However,  this is for Pat so I am asking those of you that are able to contribute financially to our endeavor to do so.   In addition,  we covet your prayers that Pat continues to feel well enough to travel.  We saw Pat’s Doctor today and received permission to make the trip "as long as she feels like it".  We are hoping to go for the month of September avoiding the heat of summer and the high tourist season.

SO, please pray for continued stamina for Pat and make a contribution to her trip if you are able.  Please share our story with those you know.  We'll keep you posted on her progress and post pictures from her trip.  Thank you for your time, attention, prayers, and willing spirit. Please give as you are able.  Any amount, large or small, will help. Pat will use anything above the cost of her trip to defray mounting medical expenses
