Pat Clark is officially a candidate for the Kalamazoo County Commission’s 7th District, which encompasses the Townships of Comstock, Climax, Wakeshma and Charleston (Galesburg City). Please consider supporting her campaign.
“I’m running because during my experience with CATAB, I've come to know some of the Commissioners and saw the work they do. Our area of the county has unique needs and issues that I wish to address on behalf of our community. ”
“I approach issues with a can-do attitude. In the Village we had a resolution that required us to pay 1/3 of the cost of the Fire Services, which has been in increasingly tough burden for our general fund. This was based solely on population. I was able to initiate a dialogue with the Township which led to the Fire Department having its own fund that is supported by the Township. This was a win-win for everyone. It gave sustainability to the Fire Department and allowed them to properly budget for equipment and the like.”
Clark has been a Climax Village Trustee since 2012 and is the Chair of the Administrative Committee. She has been employed by Community AIDS Resource & Education Services (CARES) since 2004, most recently as a Director of Client Services and also serves as the Legislative Director for the MI Coalition for HIV Health & Safety (MCHHS). She is a member of the volunteer Community Action Advisory Board (CATAB) as Chair of the Governance Committee. She also is a member of the Climax Civic Association, a volunteer group which sponsors the Climax Community Gardens, Movies in the Park and The Lighting of the Tree and a member of the Progressive Women's Alliance of Kalamazoo.
