Help Vanessa Kick Cancer's Ass
As one can imagine, the challenges don't end once VA is cancer free and allowed to be back with her perfect little family. Vanessa won't be able to work for at least 6 months as she continues her battle back to good health. Any donations to help them pay the bills and raise their beautiful daughter during this trying time will be greatly appreciated. We will also be setting up various fundraisers and events along the way, which we will keep you all posted about. Thank you for keeping her in your thoughts and together we will get through this.
Ryan here. This website is the product of people very near and dear to me convincing me that we needed help, that was difficult for me. You all have humbled me and shown me how fortunate I am once again this week. The preliminary diagnosis of Leukemia was delivered to us in Portsmouth on Friday. By Thursday, when Tyler activated this site, I had reviewed contracts and bank accounts, counted, re-counted, checked-double-checked and triple-checked calendars. The beans had been counted. I won't continue to bore you with the details but our financial forecast was mediocre with a chance of stress. There was a deadline, that I had circled in red pen, when I knew our money would just run out. People kept telling me not to worry, to focus on Vanessa and being healthy, but I just couldn't help myself.
The outpouring of support from family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and community members (and I MEAN community in the biggest sense of the word: Johnsons, YRL, EEB, the Seacoast, Northwood, CBNA, the Brewery, WHS, DMS, etc... [sorry if I missed anyone]) has been truly the most grand gesture anyone has ever shown me. We have felt so loved, and so uplifted by the support that I cannot find the words... I can say this...
I know that this money was never given with any expectation of repayment, and by the nature of this site and the nature of some of you that have wished to remain anonymous, I could never repay all of you. I will tell you that the money donated here has added months to that deadline I had circled in the calendar in my mind. In those months you have gifted us I promise to be as supportive a husband as I can, and to continue to try and be the best father to Claire that I know how to be.
And I will make you all one more promise; this money will not be repaid, but it will be paid forward. I will make sure that the money you have given to support my family is returned to the universe to support others in our situation. I will not be able to start immediately, but when I do start, it will be with a full head of steam and all the resources at my disposal.
From Vanessa, Claire and especially from me-from the bottom of my heart-THANK YOU!
