Orach Nashim- support for women

Orach Nashim is a new organisation aimed at increasing awareness and providing services to women, across the spectrum of the Melbourne Jewish community, relating to the intersecting areas of family purity laws and reproductive health. It will be a safe place for women to seek guidance and support with female health professionals in a safe and approachable manner.
Orach Nashim will also serve as a liaison to obtain rabbinic advice for women who don't have a Rabbi, or are uncomfortable asking their Rabbi about intimate issues.
Initial funds needs to be raised in order to train some female health professionals across our community to become a certified bodkot. A bodeket is a qualified professional who can perform an internal physical examination and liaise with a Rabbi to obtain a psak (halachic decision) in cases of unexpected bleeding. Dr. Chava Yael Schreiber, one of Israel's leading fertility experts and medical director of Zir Chemed Medical centre, will be coming in from Israel to provide the training.
Funds will also be used to purchase examination equipment for this service and to put on educational events for the community.
Together with your help we look forward to starting this new initiative in Melbourne and being able to assist and empower women and their families towards true Taharat Hamishpacha.
