90% of the wildlife in Madagascar is endemic to the island but only 10% of its original coverage remains.
In the summer and with a group from school, I am spending a couple of weeks with researchers and scientists looking at conserving the wildlife.
Some of the work we will be doing is looking at numbers of lemurs, amphibians, and birds, and collecting and identifying frog species.
We also are going to Nosy Be where we'll learn about the coral reef ecosystem and the threats to it.
