The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12101, Fox 5, NV Energy, Subaru Las Vegas and Henderson Hospital are joining forces to collect baby items for new and expecting military families residing in Southern Nevada. From cribs to car seats to gift cards, every donation will help keep baby safe and happy while mom or dad are away serving our country. The 2017 Military Baby Shower will be for approximately 250 new and expecting military mothers many who have deployed partners or are active-duty servicewomen. The event will include gifts from the local community and flowers from expectant fathers.
The majority of the women who attend the shower are first-time moms or expecting multiples. Due to constant deployments many of these expecting mothers will be giving birth while their husbands are deployed in combat areas such as Afghanistan and Kuwait. In addition to an evening of food and games the most important opportunity for many of these new moms is to be surrounded by other women in the exact same situation as they celebrate the births of their new babies.
To provide the largest military baby shower in the country costs a lot of money. While I wish the Las Vegas community would cover the costs we are tasked with finding donors to help offset the rentals, food costs etc. Every dollar helps us provide these ladies the baby shower of their dreams!
AVERAGE SHOWER COSTS:
Food Costs: $5,750.00
Stage/Screen Rentals: $1,800.00
Linen Rentals: $230.00
Roses: $150.00
Baby Bags: $250.00
Baby Buckets: $250.00
Folders, Cellophane Bags, Rolls, Bows: $250
Large Baby Gear Items: $1,320
